Jessica Johnson
Founder & CEO
Jessica brings more than 18 years of experience in accounting, payroll, auditing, financial analysis, and tax preparation. Her tax work includes both simple and complex individual and business returns. She also has extensive experience with business formations, including S Corporations, C Corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships, nonprofit organizations, and fiduciary returns.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southwest Minnesota State University and is an Enrolled Agent, authorized to represent clients before the IRS.
Jessica is detail-oriented and known for her ability to communicate clearly with both business owners and individuals, regardless of their level of experience with accounting or taxes. She takes the time to explain what matters and helps clients understand the tools they need to reach their business and personal goals.

Beyond her professional work, Jessica is actively engaged in the Redwood Falls community. She serves financial leadership and board roles for several local organizations, supporting downtown engagement, youth athletics, service groups and community initiatives.
​
Jessica has called Redwood Falls home for the past 20 years. She lives here with her husband, Brent, and their four children, and is deeply invested in long-term strength of the community she serves.
Kristen Beran
PARTNER & CPA
Kristen Beran brings more than 30 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance. She is known for her steady, detail-oriented approach and her ability to help organizations improve financial processes, strengthen reporting accuracy, and make informed decisions.

Kristen has held senior leadership roles across financial services, banking, and corporate environments. Her background includes overseeing accounting operations, managing month-end close processes, developing reporting frameworks, and supporting compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements. She has worked closely with boards, lenders, auditors, and external tax professionals to provide clear, reliable financial insight that supports long-term planning and stability.

She also brings experience leading internal audits, strengthening internal controls, streamlining inefficient processes, and implementing system and automation improvements. Kristen is valued for her collaborative style and her ability to translate complex financial data into practical, actionable insights.
Kristen holds a master’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She is Zoho Certified and QuickBooks Online Certified.

A lifelong resident of the Redwood Falls area, Kristen values strong community connections. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and taking walks through the local park.
Scott Creighton
Accountant
Scott brings more than 30 years of experience in business and accounting, including nearly 20 years as a business owner. His background includes budget development, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger work, and asset management.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and completed additional coursework in Financial Accounting and Marketing at the University of Colorado, Denver.
​
With his ownership and management experience, Scott enjoys working with small to mid-sized organizations where he can make a meaningful impact and help strengthen financial systems.
​
Scott returned to the family homestead near Lamberton five years ago, where he lives with his wife. He has two adult children and is a grandfather to two boys.
​
In his free time, Scott enjoys gardening, growing grapes, and winemaking. He is also a member of the Windom Area Chordhustlers Barbershop Chorus and the Lamberton Lions Club.
Joan Johnson
Senior advisor
Joan has more than 30 years of experience in accounting and auditing, with a strong focus on large corporations, grant financial administration, and audit facilitation engagements.
​
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Sacramento, and maintains an active CPA license in Minnesota.
​
Throughout her career, Joan has handled a wide range of accounting, auditing, financial reporting, and analytical work. She has also held multiple supervisory roles, allowing her to develop thoughtful, practical plans tailored to each client’s needs.
​
Joan recently returned to her family’s hometown of Lamberton. She enjoys spending time with her daughter and is an active member of her church.

Corrie Tews
Assistant
Corrie helps keep Perfectly Balanced organized and running smoothly. As our Office Assistant, she supports clients and the team by managing communication, organizing documents, and handling the day-to-day details that keep things on track.
​
Outside of Perfectly Balanced, Corrie also serves as the Library Director for the Redwood Public Library. You may even see her here after hours making sure everything is ready for the next busy day.
​
When she is not working, Corrie enjoys golfing, spending time at the lake, and hanging out with her dog, Luna. She and her boyfriend, Shayne, have called the Redwood community home for many years.
